If you've been watching my streams, you know that I've been making a custom world for myself in Resonite. I've called the world "TomTam Home [WIP]" for now.

So I've been thinking about making a proper name for it. But what do I name it? It could be something silly, like: "Puppy cabin", "Doggo Forest". But that feels too obvious.
So as always when making a new word I went to google translate and started translating words into latin. Words like caniculus, catulus, canis were the obvious start but I don't really like any of these as the base. So I went to czech for inspiration. In czech a puppy would be "štěně[puppy]" or "štěňátko[little puppy]" but I don't want it to just sound like czech, that's boring and would be unpronouncable for non english speakers.
Well then, how would I write it down the english way? This would make it easier for english speakers to figure out the pronounciation and it would already somewhat disguise the czech origin.
So štěně would become stenye/shtenye and štěňátko would be something like stenyatko/shtenyatko. And eventually after thinking for a while and looking up different suffixes and different names for forests I came up with:

  • Nyathel
    • Could be Nyathel Grove
    • I do quite like this one
  • Stenyara
  • Stenillium
  • Pupillium

But I am not sure of any of these. I might go with Nyathel Grove. I tried looking the word up and I don't think it means anything in any language but I only speak 2 languages so I can never be sure until someone comes accross the word and tells me that it's some obscure swear word. Also I feel like it is close to a word, but I can't figure out what it reminds me of...
